Old-Fashioned Baked Beans

2 pounds dried navy beans (4 cups), sorted and rinsed
10 cups water
3 cups water
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup molasses
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
2 teaspoons salt
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
1. Place beans and 10 cups water in 6-quart Dutch oven. Heat to boiling over high heat; reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 2 hours. Drain and discard liquid.
2. Mix beans, 3 cups water and remaining ingredients in 4 to 5 quart slow cooker.
3. Cover and cook on Low heat setting 10 to 12 hours. Beans will hold on Low heat setting up to 1 1/2 hours; stir occasionally.
