What is the ONE political issue which is most important to you? Is there one? Is there one that you feel so strongly about that you could never vote for anyone on the other side of the fence on that issue?

I sort of understand this but its a tad generic, I mean its sort of like saying I am for world peace. Everyone is for the goal but how the goal is achieved is where the differences lie.
Some might say the best way to gain respect is by leading and doing what we think is right. Others might think the best way is by handing over our sovereignty to the United Nations....but both would probably share the same goal.
Personally its low on my list though...geo-politics isnt a popularity contest and I dont much care what Boliva or Iceland think anyhoo

I tend to be very specific with my issues. As long as I can remember caring about politics....I always vote for less taxes and the military. If one day the democrats decide to cut taxes and fully back the military, then I will vote Democratic....right now I am a Republican although the definition of either party seems to be changing..................
I'm not proud of the Republican party. For example, I am against the Death Penalty...but the issues I care about more, outweigh this example.
Edited to add: If I thought for a milisecond Kerry could get us out of this war or make it a success....I would drop all my issues and pay more in taxes just to bring the soldiers home and see Iraq free.....but I just don't have any confidence in the guy......

SAFETY from terrorism firstly. I believe we cannot have any of the other freedoms we count on without that. I want a strong President who lets the world know not to mess with us. Plain enough? Lots of other things pale in comparison to this for me. :)
