It would be nice to live in a society where looks and being attractive looking dont matter so much....so maybe its different in other places.
Who do you think the ugliest world leader (past or present) is, please provide photographic evidence if possible :D

Well, he's not really a leader, but I think Prince Charles not a very pretty man. Hopefully I don't need to post a pic - I think most people know what he looks like.
But Vladimir Putin of Russia was elected, and he's not the most attractive guy. Some pics aren't bad, but others he looks kinda goofy. And he definitely makes for an amusing caricature. http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:S3O6IixI9jYJ:http://maks.autonet.ee/Moi%2520Fotografii%2520i%2520Diplomy%2520(1986-2003)/original/Vladimir%2520Putin.jpg here's a real pic: http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:hCqlSTGbceYJ:http://www.colorton.ru/foto/putin.jpg

Well I can see everyone is having a hard time deciding on their favorite...
My early inclination is to go with Yasser Arafat

I think he had a disease as a child that crippled one side of his mouth.
I vaguely remember when he was running, one of the opposing parties had an ad which poked fun at that. Of course it was yanked since it was in such poor taste.

Nevemind:)
edit: I had a question here, but I took it out after seeing SM's response below. But, after reconsideration, I'm putting it back as a rhetorical question.
Why was this thread moved? It's not really political and there has been no fighting. I don't understand.

No politics or fighting allowed in this thread. Its only about who YOU think is an ugly world leader...just opinions here please. :)

Why in the hell was this thread moved???!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on Mods, isn't this a bit ridiculous??!!!!

The thread was moved because there was a complaint.
What's the problem with moving it? It's not locked, and it is not deleted. I think this is a pretty good compromise.

Nevermind. It was uncalled for. I apologize. It was my pain talking.

I always move threads to the Mattresses when it is suggested, no matter who makes the request or who the original poster is. I don't consider moving threads here a big deal at all.
There are five complaints regarding this thread so far (Galatea got three in her home e-mail while she was at work, and I had two this morning before I left), but I feel justified in moving threads that have had no actual complaints, if they strike me as having the potential to be problematic. In this particular case I had an additional reason to make a quick decision - I was about to leave for the afternoon and did not want to come back to a firestorm and a lot of hurt feelings.
There was a redirect message in the BoomBoom Room. Everybody can see all the threads in this forum if they want to see them. It is not censoring, deleting, locking, etc. You have chosen to start lots of threads in here yourself, Rose - you had ten on the first page yesterday :)

apparently if SM types it...it gets complaints...I wish I knew *who* they were, so we could get their posts moved all the time

Jeeper, when you get complaints, do you look to see if there is validity to it or just 5 complaints is enough to move it?
Not a complaint here by the way.....just a clarification!

If five people complained about a completely innocuous thread that Galatea, Jane, or I started, I would move it to the Mattresses. It would become a problematic thread by definition. And anyways... it's nice here :D
Just for the record, though, I will repeat that I do not feel I have to actually have a complaint to move a thread here. I've been on the boards for several years, and I have a pretty good feel for what will hurt feelings, start flame wars, etc.

Maybe not a world-leader, but I think the Dutch Prime Minister is not too hot either! :dying:(edited to add: I think it's mainly the haircut and the strictly Protestant overall look the poor man has)

Prime Minster of a country counts as a world leader....but I will say I think he has a lot of work to do to catch up with the other entrants. :)

I think this is a particularly flattering picture of him. He doesn't usually look that 'good' !!!:dying:  Couldn't find another that really did any justice...;)

Hmmm... sticking strickly with US polotics - I'd have to flip a coin to choose between:
Richard Nixon http://baby.indstate.edu/gga/gga_cart/pres37.gif
and
Storm Thurman http://img.slate.msn.com/media/1/123125/123102/2059945/2074733/2074762/021216_Strohm.jpg
Pretty sure their actions have affected how I see them
